Digital Twin for Supply Chain Coordination in Modular Construction

Over the past decades, construction industry has been attracted to modular because of its benefits for reduced project scheduling and costs. However, schedule deviation risks in logistics process can derail thus interfere with widespread application. To address this issue, we aim develop a digital twin framework real-time simulation, which predict potential accurate module arrival time. The twin, virtual replica physical module, updates asset based on building information modeling (BIM) near using internet thing (IoT) sensors. Then, is transferred exploited simulation geographic system (GIS)-based routing We tested case where modules are manufactured at factory, delivered site via truck, assembled onsite. results show that logistical time be detected suggested framework. This paper’s primary contribution development mediates IoT, BIM, GIS reliable predicts delivery Such risk prediction enables effective supply chain coordination, improve performance application construction.
